Amritpal Singh wrote a letter to the Speaker: Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh has written a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker. According to sources, Amritpal has written a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker expressing his desire to participate in the monsoon session. The monsoon session of Parliament is going to start from July 22.

On July 5, Amritpal Singh took oath as a Lok Sabha member. He is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam. During the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, 539 out of 542 newly elected MPs took oath as MPs.

Amritpal Singh could not take oath during the session as he was in jail. The new MP has to take oath within 60 days, otherwise he may lose his membership. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Amritpal Singh defeated Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh Jeera from Khadoor Sahib seat by 1 lakh 97 thousand 120 votes. Amritpal Singh got 4 lakh 4 thousand 430 votes, while Kuldeep Jeera got 2 lakh 7 thousand 310 votes. With this, on this seat Aam Aadmi Party K's Laljit Singh Bhullar stood third by securing 1,94,836 votes.

Amritpal Singh, head of 'Waris Punjab De' and an independent candidate from Khadoor Sahib seat of Punjab, is currently in Assam jail under the National Security Act. Let us tell you that earlier, the custody of newly elected MP Amritpal Singh and 9 others under NSA in Dibrugarh Central Jail of Assam was extended for one year on June 19. All of them have been in jail since March last year.

The custody of 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh and his three associates was to end on July 24. While the custody of six other associates was to end on June 18.
