New Delhi: A person who travelled from a country experiencing ampox transmission has tested positive for the disease. Now the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given more information about it, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the first suspected case of ampox has been confirmed as a travel-related infection.
The sample was tested. The test confirmed the presence of the West African Clade-2 ampoxvirus in the patient.
Where did Mpox come from?
The ministry said, 'This case is an isolated case, similar to the 30 cases reported in India since July 2022, and is not part of the current public health emergency of MPOX (reported by WHO).
