The magic of cricket is always there in Indian television's most famous quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC). In the episode aired on October 2, the show's host Amitabh Bachchan asked a question which thrilled the audience. The question was related to the India-England Test series played in India this year. The contestants and the audience appeared confused about the answer to this question.

Amitabh Bachchan asked this question in KBC

The contestant was asked, “Who is the second Indian batsman after Sunil Gavaskar to score more than 700 runs in a series?” This question is worth Rs. 6.4 lakh and they had four options: Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. The contestant was a bit confused, so he took the help of 'Audience Poll' Lifeline.

'Audience Poll' surprised everyone

Interestingly, 37% of voters voted for Virat Kohli even though he was not playing in the India vs England Test series. The correct answer was Yashasvi Jaiswal, which was given by 49% of the viewers. Shubman Gill got 4% votes and Rohit Sharma got 10% votes, although both played for India in the series.

Great performance by Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal excelled in the India vs England Test series and joined Sunil Gavaskar in an exclusive club with 712 runs. Gavaskar was the first Indian batsman to score more than 700 runs in a series. He achieved this feat by scoring 774 runs against West Indies in 1970/71 and 732 runs in 1978/79.

Yashasvi Jaiswal performed brilliantly in this series against England and scored two double centuries and three half-centuries, as a result of which India won the series 4-1. After recently defeating Bangladesh 2-0, India will now face New Zealand in their next series.
