In fact, the BJP's Central Election Committee is likely to meet in the next few days to decide the names of candidates for the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Voting for the 90-member Union Territory Assembly is to be held in three phases on 18, 25 September and 1 October. Counting of votes will take place on October 4. Earlier in the 2014 assembly elections, the BJP had won 25 seats. The party is making every effort to counter the challenge of the Congress, especially in the Jammu region, which has been a BJP stronghold since 2014.
