Kolkata, 24 October (Hindustan Reporter). Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit West Bengal on October 27, where he will launch the state-level membership campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Party state president and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar said, “Amit Shah will reach Bengal on Saturday night. On Sunday he will first attend an event at the international land port, Petrapole. After this, he will go to Arambagh in Hooghly to participate in the program of the Ministry of Cooperation.”
After this, Shah will participate in the BJP's membership campaign program at the Eastern Regional Cultural Center (EZCC) in Salt Lake.
According to party sources, during this period, Amit Shah will also hold closed-door organizational meetings with the state leadership. This will be the Home Minister's first visit to Bengal after the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in RG Kar Hospital has spread outrage across the country, hence Shah's visit is considered even more important.
