In a video message, actor Amitabh Bachchan has said that vigilance against cyber crime is necessary. Special conversation about I4C
The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs to combat cybercrime in the country. The I4C campaign was launched in the year 2018. It includes improving coordination between various law enforcement agencies and stakeholders, transforming India's overall capability to tackle cybercrime, and improving citizen satisfaction levels. I4C was dedicated to the nation by the Home Minister on 10 January 2020.
Objectives of the I4C Campaign
- To act as a nodal point for curbing cyber crime in India.
- Strengthening the fight against cyber crimes against women and children.
- To facilitate easy lodging of cyber crime related complaints and identification of cyber crime patterns.
- To act as an early warning system for law enforcement agencies for proactive cyber crime prevention and detection.
- To create awareness among people for prevention of cyber crime.
- Assisting States/UTs in capacity building of police officers, public prosecutors and judicial officers in the area of cyber forensic investigation, cyber hygiene, cyber-criminology etc.
