Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacked both the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, saying that Sharad Pawar is the leader of corruption and Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray is the head of Aurangzeb fan club.

While addressing the state level convention of Bharatiya Janata Party held in Pune, he also targeted Rahul Gandhi and said that even though Congress has faced defeat in many states in this Lok Sabha election, he is still showing arrogance.

Terming Shiv Sena breakaway leader Uddhav Thackeray as head of Aurangzeb fan club, the Home Minister said Thackeray is in favour of those seeking commutation of death sentence of 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.

Uddhav Thackeray is the head of Aurangzeb Fan Club, do you know who is a member of that club? Answering the question, Amit Shah said that he had fed biryani to 26/11 Mumbai attack culprit Ajmal Kasab in jail. Calling Sharad Pawar the leader of corruption, he said that Sharad Pawar has given an organized form to corruption.

The most controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik who was given the 'Messenger of Peace' award, Yakub Memon who recommended the commutation of death sentence and those who support the banned Islamic organization PFI are all members of the Aurangzeb fan club. Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray should be ashamed of all this.

Shah expressed confidence that the BJP-led alliance will perform better in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections than it did in 2014 and 2019.

In this Lok Sabha election, the Bharatiya Janata Party had to face a huge defeat. In the 2019 elections, it had won 23 seats, but this time it had to be content with only nine seats. In this regard, Amit Shah said that instead of being distressed or disappointed by the election results, the party workers need to work with double enthusiasm and should aim to reach the people-oriented schemes of the ruling Mahayuti government to the people.
