World Championship silver medalist boxer Amit Pandal (51 kg category) has secured a ticket to the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Haryana's Pandal made a brilliant comeback in the quarter-finals of the second World Qualification Boxing Tournament and defeated China's Chuang Liu 5-0 in a one-sided match. He will represent India in the Olympics for the second consecutive time. Apart from Sachin, two other boxers Jasmine Limboria (57 kg) and Sachin (57 kg) are also in the race for the Olympic quota.

Amit Pandhal is the fifth Indian boxer to qualify for the Paris Olympics. Earlier, Nishant Dev (71 kg), Nikhat Zareen (50 kg), Preeti Pawar (54 kg) and Lovlina Borgain (75 kg) have qualified for the Olympic Games. Amit Pandhal got this one-time chance to make it to the Paris Olympics, which the 2018 Asian Games champion took full advantage of. Pandhal lost his place in the national team due to the evaluation system of the Boxing Federation of India. He was replaced by World Championship bronze medallist Deepak Bhoria, who had participated in the last two qualifying events. Pandhal also won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
