Amaravati: Amid the controversy over animal fat in the prasad of the famous Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh, reports of insects in the prasad have come to light. When lunch was being served in the temple, a devotee claimed to have found dates in the curd rice.

However, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) refuted the devotee's claim and claimed that this did not happen. Devotee Chandu, who came to Tirupati from Barangal to visit the temple, said that when I informed the temple officials about the presence of insects in the prasad served to me, they gave a strange reply. He told me that this happens sometimes.

Chandu, who came to visit the temple, claimed that he had videos and photographs as proof of ear dates being found in curd rice. Regarding which I also contacted the temple officials. However, he refused to take the matter seriously and started threatening me. He told me that the leaves used for serving Prasad might have been infested with insects.

He said the question now is whether any child or anyone else eats such prasad and who is responsible for what happens to them? However, the temple administrators claim that they are trying to mislead people's faith in Lord Venkateshwara by claiming that insects etc. have been found in this prasad. Earlier, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had claimed that the lab report had revealed that the ghee used in Ladwa contains animal fat. At present this matter is going on in the Supreme Court, now a new controversy is in the news due to the claim of finding insects.
