Amidst Paytm's troubles, Flipkart launches UPI, know how it works – News India Live

Flipkart UPI Handle Launch: On one hand, online money transfer app Paytm is facing difficulties one after another, on the other hand, many startups have intensified their efforts to attract their customers. Recently MobiKwik has launched Pocket UPI facility and now e-commerce giant Flipkart has entered the world of UPI. E-commerce platform Flipkart on Sunday launched its Unified Payment Interface (UPI) handle to further improve the digital payments experience of all its customers, including over 500 million customers. With Flipkart UPI, customers can now create their own UPI handle for online and offline transactions within and outside the Flipkart platform. For better customer experience, Flipkart introduced Supercoins, Cashback, Brand Vouchers, Milestones and many other benefits after the launch of UPI.

The company said in a statement, “ Within the Flipkart app, “Flipkart UPI can be used to pay for any product or service, including e-commerce transactions, scanning UPI ID, payments, recharges and bill payments.”

In the first phase, Flipkart has partnered with Axis Bank, wherein customers can register for UPI with the @fkaxis handle for their digital transactions using the Flipkart app.

“Given the dynamic digital landscape, Flipkart seamlessly integrates the convenience and cost-effectiveness of UPI that our customers expect,” said Dheeraj Aneja, Senior Vice President, Fintech & Payments Group, Flipkart.

“At Flipkart, we are committed to providing customers with a best-in-class experience by providing secure and convenient payment options along with SuperCoins, brand vouchers and a wide range of other benefits.” They said that.

Going a step further, Aneja said, “Flipkart UPI reflects its dedication towards building a digitally empowered society and reaffirms its important role as a catalyst in India's digital growth.” Said. It provides one-click and faster access to recharge and bill payments, thereby increasing overall payment efficiency for customers.

According to the company, with the tagline 'India's most profitable UPI', it aims to provide consumers a seamless, secure and convenient digital payments experience through its integrated checkout funnel and provide additional incentives including the benefit of instant refunds.

In 2023, UPI will have processed 117 billion transactions worth Rs 182.84 trillion, reflecting a dynamic landscape with participation from banks, payment service providers and fintech companies.

Speaking on this, Sanjeev Moghe, President and Head, Cards and Payments, Axis Bank, said, “We are continuing our growth with partnerships and innovations in UPI. Our partnership with Flipkart has come a long way from launching one of India’s most successful co-brands.” The credit card is now going to launch Flipkart UPI service.
