Amid rising diplomatic tensions between India and Bangladesh, the Border Security Force (BSF) set an example of humanitarian initiative. At Mustafapur border post on South Bengal Frontier, BSF helped a Bangladeshi woman get the last glimpse of her Indian brother.

How did this event happen?
Panchayat member of Ganguli village informed BSF that the residents of the village Abdul Khalid Mandal Has passed away. Mandal’s sister, who is from Bangladesh Sardar Baripota Village Expressed her wish to see her brother for the last time. Taking the matter seriously, the company commander of BSF immediately Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Contacted.

With the consent of both countries, Zero Line (International Border) But a meeting was held. There Mandal’s sister and other family members saw him for the last time. The family expressed gratitude to both BSF and BGB for this humanitarian initiative.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier N K Pandey said,
“BSF personnel are not only engaged in guarding the border but also try to meet the humanitarian and social needs of the people in the border areas. This is part of our responsibility.”
