Amid the offering theft case, CM Yogi will visit Ram Lalla, DM tells Champat Rai to maintain distance Ayodhya Visit: Amid the echo of Ram temple offering controversy, CM Yogi will reach Ayodhya tomorrow, why ‘distance’ from Trust General Secretary Champat Rai

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Ayodhya on June 19. This visit is taking place at a time when the matter of alleged irregularities related to offerings and donations in Ram temple is in discussion and the SIT formed to investigate it is active. Meanwhile, there is a buzz in the administrative corridors that the District Magistrate of Ayodhya has indicated to the Trust General Secretary Champat Rai to maintain ‘appropriate distance’ from the Chief Minister during the program. It is believed that this decision has been taken with the aim of ensuring fairness of the investigation process.

SIT investigation and diplomatic distance

According to sources, the three-member SIT team investigating the offering irregularities case is camping in Ayodhya these days. Many senior officials and employees of the Trust are included in the scope of investigation, who are being continuously interrogated. Champat Rai and trust member Anil Mishra are also part of this investigation process. Administrative sources say that in the presence of the Chief Minister, being close to the persons associated with the investigation can raise questions on the impartiality of the investigation, hence Champat Rai has been asked to maintain distance as per protocol.

What is the offering controversy?

Allegations of irregularities in the management of offerings and donations at the Ram temple have created a stir in political circles. Considering the seriousness of this matter, the state government had constituted SIT. Since the matter is related to the internal management of the temple complex and the trust, this visit of the Chief Minister is not only important for the development work, but is also a big challenge for the state government to maintain the impartiality of the SIT investigation. This visit of Yogi Adityanath gives a clear message that the investigation work will be conducted as per the law and transparency will not be compromised at any level.
