Ladakh 5 new districts: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a big announcement regarding the Union Territory of Ladakh. It has been announced to create 5 new districts in the state. The Union Home Ministry has announced the creation of five new districts in the Union Territory before the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on social media platform X, Amit Shah wrote that the Union Home Ministry has decided to create five new districts in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to create a developed and prosperous Ladakh. The names of these five districts have also been announced, which include Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra and Changthang. Shah said that by strengthening the governance in every part of Ladakh, the benefits will be brought to the people at their doorstep. The Modi government is committed to providing opportunities to the people of Ladakh on a large scale.

Such benefits will be derived from the creation of four new districts

For example, administrative work is slow in big districts and the administrative system does not reach remote areas quickly. Since Ladakh is a mountainous region, it is difficult to reach remote areas and it takes more time. Due to such reasons, the development of Ladakh has been limited in the last few years.

Earlier there were only 2 districts in Ladakh, now there are 7

In 2019, Ladakh was separated from Jammu and Kashmir and made a new union territory. At that time there were only two districts in the union territory – Leh and Kargil. But now five more new districts (Jhanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra and Changthang) have been created in Ladakh. With this, there will be a total of 7 districts in Ladakh. In 1979, Ladakh was divided into Kargil and Leh districts.

In 1989, there were riots between Buddhists and Muslims. Then in the 1990s, the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council was formed to free Ladakh from Kashmiri rule. On 5 August 2019, it became a Union Territory. Ladakh is the least populated region of India.

Ladakh is connected to the China-Pakistan border

Ladakh, bordering China and Pakistan, is considered to be of great strategic and defense importance. Ladakh is surrounded by Tibet in the east, Lahaul and Spiti in the south, Jammu and Kashmir and Baltistan in the west and the Trans Kunlun region of Xinjiang in the north.

Now the people of Ladakh will get the benefit of the schemes of the Center: Modi

In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on Twitter that, 'Creating five new districts in Ladakh will help improve governance. This will help in providing services and opportunities to the people.'

This is a big announcement after the removal of Article 370

Article 370 gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but the central government abolished it in 2019. At that time, the central government divided Jammu and Kashmir into two parts and gave Ladakh the status of a separate union territory. Due to which the administration of Ladakh comes directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
