A case of fraud of Rs 6 crore has come to light from an American woman in Jaipur. The fraudster sold fake jewellery worth Rs 6 crore to the woman. He also gave a fake certificate claiming that the jewellery was genuine. The surprising thing is that the woman did not realise the fraud till she was in India. When the woman reached America, she came to know that all the jewellery she had bought from Jaipur was fake. After this, the woman came to Jaipur again and complained to the police.
The US Embassy had to intervene in this case. The person who issued the fake certificate has been arrested. The victim's name is Cherish. She bought fake jewellery from a shop in Johri Bazar in Manak Chowk police station area of Jaipur. The shopkeeper and his son have fled. When the woman showed these jewellery at an exhibition in America in April, it was discovered that they were fake. The price of fake jewellery is said to be Rs 300 to Rs 600.
According to sources, when the victim returned from America, she first complained to the shop owner Rajendra Soni and his son Gaurav. This angered the accused. They did not agree to sell fake jewellery. After this, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint against the accused on May 18. After this, a case was registered by the accused shopkeeper. Finally, the woman sought help from the US Embassy, which intervened.
After the intervention of the US Embassy in this case, Jaipur Police became active and started investigation. Finally, the police caught this fraudster. According to the police officer, the accused had sold fake polished gold jewellery worth Rs 300 for Rs 6 crore. The accused had described the stones in the jewellery as diamonds. The accused used the money obtained through fraud to buy a flat. The price of this flat is said to be Rs 3 crore.
