American swimmer Katie Ledecky’s milestone

America’s top female swimmer Katie Ledecky has achieved a historic feat by winning gold in the 800m and 1500m freestyle swimming events at the Paris Olympics. Ledecky also tied Soviet Union gymnast Larisa Latynina for the most Olympic gold medals in Olympic history, with nine. Ledecky won her fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal in the 800 meter freestyle event. She became the first female swimmer to win gold medals in four Olympics. In Paris, Ledecky won two gold medals along with 1 silver and 1 bronze, bringing her career medal count to 14.
