The US government allows foreign IT experts to work in the US IT sector for three years under this visa program. That limit can be extended up to 6 years. 85 thousand will get visa for the year 2025.

These visas are issued by the US Immigration Department by lottery as millions of applications are received. This is the most popular category of visa in the IT sector. Top US IT companies hire foreign IT experts under this visa category. A large number of Indians are also included in this. H-1B visa is quite popular among IT professionals in India.
According to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, those who have been selected will be given online information by March 31.
After this further processing of visa will be done. Cap petitions and online forms are expected to begin in early April. The fees for this visa program have also been increased from 2025. Till now the American visa fee was $10, which has now been increased to $110.
The fee for H-1B visa has also been increased from $10 to $215.
