3 approved Russian oil tankers to supply oil to India: Since the Russia-Ukraine war that began in February 2022, India has been buying large quantities of oil from Russia at concessional prices. Russian tankers filled with oil will also reach India in the next few weeks. But we are talking about those three tankers on which America has banned. However, these three tankers are coming to India.
14 Russian oil tankers blacklisted
According to a newspaper report, there are at least three tankers delivering crude oil to Indian refining companies in the next few weeks which have been recently banned by the US. The US on Friday blacklisted 14 Russian oil tankers because they were exporting oil at prices higher than price limits imposed by Western countries. The price of Russian oil from western countries is $60 per barrel.
Blacklisted tankers allowed to export oil for 45 days
Another tanker, Anatoly Kolodkin, will also arrive at Sikka port in April. Earlier this month, the tanker Anatoly Kolodkin delivered crude oil to Vadinar port. Another blacklisted tanker NS Captain will also arrive at Vadinar port with oil in March and April. However, deliveries from blacklisted tankers are unlikely to cause any major problems. Because America has allowed blacklisted tankers to export oil for 45 days.
No delivery from blacklisted tankers after 45 days
Other G-7 countries, including the US, jointly announced the imposition of a price cap on Russian oil in December 2022. According to the report, Russia delivers four dozen cargoes to India in a month. According to sources, after 45 days of blacklisted tankers, Indian refining companies will not import oil from these tankers.
Companies should take delivery only from approved tankers
According to sources, the government does not want Indian refining companies to openly violate the G-7 price cap. In such a situation, to avoid restrictions, companies should take delivery only from approved tankers. In the last few months, there have been cases of violation of price limits by Russian tankers visiting India. Due to which Indian refining companies have refused to take the cargo.
