America: 24 year old Indian-American Ashwin Ramaswamy contested Senate elections

Now the dominance of people of Indian origin is increasing in American politics also.

In this too, a young man of Indian origin, Ashwin Ramaswamy, has come into the field at the age of 24 to contest the Senate elections in the state of Georgia. He is the first Indian American of Generation Z to enter this field. The term Generation Z refers to individuals born between 1997 and 2012.

Ashwin Ramaswamy will run as a Democrat against Republican incumbent Shawn Still for Georgia's District 48 seat. Sean Still has also been accused of violence by entering the US Parliament in 2020. Former President Donald Trump is also an accused in the same case.

Ramaswamy's parents settled in America from Tamil Nadu in 1990. Ashwin Ramaswamy graduated from Stanford University in 2021 with a degree in Computer Science. He is also a law graduate. Ashwin's parents are in the IT sector. Ashwin is greatly influenced by Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita.

In an interview given to an Indian news agency, he said that my mother is from Chennai and my father is from Coimbatore. I grew up in both Indian and American cultures. Being a Hindu I am very interested in Indian philosophy. I learned Sanskrit when I was in college. Yoga and meditation play a big role in my life. I also read Puranas and Upanishads.

He said that after completing my studies, I got jobs in many startups. However, I realized that the government needed people who understood technology and I worked with a government agency on cyber security. I am running for State Senate to serve my community. I want all citizens to get the same opportunities as I got. People need such youth as representatives who do not have any political background.

Ashwin further said that everyone should get good education, everyone should have a job and everyone should get the benefit of health services. People's safety is also important for me. I will also try to stop school shootings.

If Ashwin wins the state Senate election, he will become the first senator from Generation Z to hold both computer science and law degrees. He will also have the distinction of becoming the first senator of Indian origin in the state of Georgia.
