Bhopal, July 13 (HS). Under the Assembly by-election 2024, the counting of votes for Assembly constituency no.-123 Amarwara (ST) of Chhindwara district started at 8 am on Saturday at the Government PG College building. Here the counting of votes is being done in two halls amid tight security arrangements, which will be completed in 20 rounds.
Additional Chief Election Officer Rajesh Kaul said that voting for the Amarwara Assembly by-election was held on 10 July at 332 polling stations. In these 332 polling stations, 17 tables have been set up for counting the votes cast by voters in EVMs and four tables for counting postal ballots. Here the counting of votes will be completed in about 20 rounds.
He informed that a three-tier security system has been ensured at the counting venue. Only persons with authorised passes will be allowed to enter the counting room. No unauthorised person will enter the counting centre. One counting supervisor, one counting assistant, one counting staff and one micro observer have been deployed at each counting table.
Let us tell you that voting for the Amarwara assembly by-election was held on July 10. There was 79.74 percent voting here. A total of 9 candidates are in the fray for this seat. There is a triangular contest between BJP's Kamlesh Shah, Congress' Dhiren Shah and Gondwana Republic Party's Devraven Bhalavi. In fact, in the 2023 assembly elections, Kamlesh Shah won from Amarwara on a Congress ticket, but before the Lok Sabha elections, he joined the BJP. That is why a by-election is being held here.
