Bhopal, July 13 (HS). Counting of votes for Amarwara assembly by-election in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh is going on in PG College on Saturday amid tight security arrangements. By 1 pm, counting of votes of 18 rounds has been completed here. BJP's Kamlesh Shah has gone ahead by 800 votes in the 18th round. Earlier, Congress's Dheeran Shah was leading. Gondwana Ganatantra Party is continuously at number three.
It is worth noting that voting was held in 332 polling stations on July 10 in the Amarwara assembly by-election, in which 79.74 percent voting took place. Counting of votes is being done on 17 tables here on Saturday, in which a lot of ups and downs are being seen. A total of 9 candidates are in the fray here. The main contest is between BJP's Kamlesh Shah, Congress' Dhiren Shah and Gondwana Ganatantra Party's Devraven Bhalavi.
Kamlesh Shah is a three-time MLA and resigned from the post of Congress MLA in the Lok Sabha elections, after which by-elections are being held here. He belongs to Harrai Mahal. Dhiren Shah, son of the sevadar of Anchalkund Dham and resigning from the post of salesman in the society, is contesting the election from Congress. Deviram Bhalavi is in the fray from Bharatiya Gondwana Party.
