Odisha and West Bengal are on alert regarding cyclone 'Dana'. Cyclonic storm Dana, formed in the Bay of Bengal, hit Odisha on October 24. It was also revealed that there was a clash in Old Digha of West Bengal also. However, the cyclone is currently making landfall. That means a normal cyclone is becoming a super cyclone. According to meteorologists, the cyclone has weakened.

According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Dana has weakened. Due to which there is news of relief for the people of 4 states Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal and Bihar. Regional Meteorological Center Director Manorama Mahanty said Dana's landfall has been delayed due to the formation of two anti-cyclonic circulations. As the cyclone moved towards the coast, two anti-cyclonic circulations formed. Two pressure areas formed on either side of the cyclone in the eastern and western directions. Due to which the cyclone has become weak. Due to this, Cyclone Dana has weakened and its speed has also slowed down.

Regarding this, IMD DG Dr Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the cyclone can now move slowly in the north-west direction and it will weaken into a deep depression by this evening. However, it has been said that rain will continue. Said, there will be heavy to very heavy rain in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Keonjhar.

Crops ruined in Bengal

Farmers have suffered the most due to the cyclonic storm in West Bengal. Life has been badly affected in West Medinipur due to cyclonic storm Dana. The paddy crop standing in the fields has also suffered a lot of damage. Persistent storm winds and rains damaged many standing crops. At some places the paddy fields have been submerged and at other places the crops are on the verge of destruction.
