Along with studies, also pay attention to mental and behavioral health of children: Collector

Gwalior, 13 April (HS). To make school children healthy, capable and determined, a creative initiative has been taken in the form of “Man Mitra” program in Dabra. Under the aegis of Dabra branch of the Indian Red Cross Society, work will be done for the physical and mental development of children through this program. In this connection, Collector Ruchika Chauhan addressed the school children in a program organized at Sant Kanwar Ram School in Dabra on Saturday and told them the tricks to become good students. He told the teachers and parents present in the program that along with the education of the children, there is a need to pay attention to their mental health and behavioral health i.e. behaviour.

Collector Ruchika Chauhan said that special attention should be paid to mental health issues of children like depression and anxiety in schools. Special care needs to be taken to ensure that children do not get trapped in drug addiction. Teachers and parents should behave friendly with children, understand their mental state and give them proper guidance. He said that if things like prolonged absence from school, not paying attention to studies, not attending class, not completing study work on time etc. are seen in children, then take them seriously and counsel the children in a positive manner.

“Man Mitra” program for school children of Dabra area was started by SDM Divyanshu Chaudhary in collaboration with Red Cross Society. SDM Choudhary said that in the first phase, the “Man Mitra” program will be run especially in rural schools for students from class 9th to 12th. Also some schools of Dabra city have also been included. In the first phase, this program will be run in 30 schools. Under the programme, children will be guided by expert speakers every Saturday in a school. Collector Ruchika Chauhan participated in the first program in this series.

Dabra SDM Divyanshu Chaudhary, city educationist and keynote speaker Dr. Umashankar Pachauri and Deepak Bhargava, secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society Dabra also participated in the program organized at Sant Kanwar Ram School. On this occasion, children were given guidance by subject experts. The program was conducted by Basant Wadhwani.
