Varanasi, May 12 (HS). All India Congress Committee spokesperson Alok Sharma on Sunday fiercely attacked the BJP and the Central Government. He said that the MPs who came and returned with briefcases kept getting the glamor of politics from Kashi but could not live the feeling of being sons of Kashi. Even the current MP, despite being the Prime Minister for the last ten years, could not give Kashi its due for development.
Congress spokesperson was talking to media persons at Paradkar Bhawan in Golghar. He said that Kashi is an ancient city of education and art but along with these areas, there was no institutional development in any other area like industry, trade etc. Some or the other work of infrastructure development has been taking place in all the cities and some such work may have been done but despite that, many areas of Varanasi are struggling with basic problems related to roads, sewers etc. In the past, many sanitation workers have lost their lives in working conditions inside sewers without basic resources. He said that despite being the MP of Kashi, the Prime Minister could not provide any university, educational institute, factory or opportunities for employment promotion here. All the construction work done here was in the hands of Gujarati companies. All the work of smart city is also in his hands. Even the entire election and political management of Modi is done by the people of Gujarat. They do not trust any local person.
