Kanpur Dehat, 12 July (HS). Action has been taken against land mafias who were selling land of the village society at high prices by deceiving the government and administration. The district administration has investigated against 56 people of a village in Akbarpur tehsil and cancelled their allotment.
In the year 1978, in the Sidhamou village of Akbarpur tehsil, land was allotted to 56 people against the rules. Despite the absence of documents, the land was registered by tampering with the revenue records. After this, the land was sold at high prices. When the matter came to light, a case was filed in the SDM court. When the matter was investigated, it was found that the records had been tampered with. On which the court has cancelled the previous orders recorded in the documents and put a stay on the allotment.
In this case, Akbarpur SDM said that 28.905 hectares of land of Sidhamau village was converted into Gram Samaj. The value of the land was estimated to be around 40 crores. All allotments made on government land by manipulating the documents have been cancelled.
