Lucknow, August 12 (HS). State Minister (Independent Charge) of Social Welfare Department Asim Arun has taken seriously the matter of providing benefits to ineligible people in the Chief Minister's mass marriage program held in Sultanpur district in July. On the instructions of the minister, Ayodhya Mandal's Deputy Director Rakesh Raman visited the spot and investigated. The investigation revealed that many ineligible women have been given the benefit of the scheme. On the basis of the Deputy Director's investigation, a high-level committee has been formed to identify the culprits, so that strict action can be taken against them.
All marriages will be verified
Aseem Arun said that in Sultanpur district, the Social Welfare Department will go door-to-door to verify all the marriages that took place under the mass marriage scheme this financial year. Because the investigation by the Deputy Director Ayodhya Mandal has revealed that many women who are already married have been given the benefit of the scheme. The women have told the investigating officer that their husbands work in Delhi. The investigating officer has also recorded the statement of the District Social Welfare Officer Sultanpur in this regard.
The Minister of State said that the government is continuously working against corruption. 10 percent of the mass marriages taking place in all the districts of the state will be randomly audited so that there is no possibility of corruption. The government is committed to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the deserving in a transparent manner.
