Let us tell you that there are continuous heavy rains in many districts of Andhra Pradesh, due to which the state government has declared holidays in schools, colleges and other educational institutions in the affected areas. The government issued an order saying that schools in other districts like Tirupati, Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam will remain closed till October 17, 2024.

Alert issued

IMD has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh till Thursday. The reason for this is the low pressure system forming in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to strengthen and move towards the coast, which may cause heavy rains in the entire state. According to the IMD alert, districts like Krishna, Bapatla, Nellore, Prakasam, Tirupati and Chittoor are likely to receive heavy rainfall till Thursday, with wind speed reaching up to 65 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, very heavy rains are expected in Sri Sathyasai, Annamayya and YSR districts.

The state government has already issued a warning to district collectors and asked them to be prepared for possible flooding in low-lying areas. Fishermen have been advised to stay away from the coast due to dangerous sea conditions.
