All-round development of disabled people is government's priority: Anupriya Patel

Mirzapur, 04 March (HS). Under the ADIP scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice Empowerment, a ceremony for distribution of free assistive devices to the disabled was organized by the Indian Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) on Monday at the 39th Vahini PAC Ground in Mirzapur. Chief guest Union Minister of State and district MP Anupriya Patel inaugurated the distribution ceremony by lighting the lamp.

The Union Minister of State said that realizing the Prime Minister's vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, various centralized schemes are being implemented for the social, cultural, educational and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities and to create an inclusive and accessible environment for them. Implementation is being done. So that the overall development of our disabled people can be ensured.

The present NDA government is very sensitive towards the welfare of the disabled. Protecting the interests of the disabled and their all-round development is a reflection of our government's thinking, priority and commitment.

The MP said that to physically empower the disabled people of Mirzapur, who are living below the poverty line and are suffering from various types of disabilities or impairments like visual-hearing, locomotor disability, etc., Under this, assistive devices are being provided to the disabled people as per their requirement.

Expressing hope, he said that through these assistive devices, the objective of making the beneficiary disabled people self-reliant and empowered can be achieved and they can be connected with the main stream of the society.

The test was done in December

The MP said that under the 'ADIP Scheme' of the Government of India, special assessment camps were organized in various blocks of Mirzapur from November 7 to December 5 last year for the assessment and registration of the eligibility of disabled people to receive life assistive devices. During these special camps, 2389 Divyangjan of the district were registered to provide essential life assistive devices.
