All India Karate Championship from Saturday, four hundred players from different states will participate | News India

Lucknow, 23 August (HS). 400 players from various states including Uttar Pradesh will compete for medals in the WMSKF All India Karate Championship-2024 to be held in Lucknow on 24th and 25th August. The two-day championship matches will be played at the Lalji Tandon Multipurpose Hall of Chowk Stadium by the World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, India.

The players were weighed on Friday on the eve of the championship. Giving information about this championship, Uttar Pradesh Association's secretary Santosh Kumar said that there will be competition for 78 gold, 78 silver and 156 bronze medals in the championship. There will be competitions in a total of 78 categories in the championship, including 62 weight categories of Kumite and 16 categories of Kata for boys and girls. Teams from host Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Goa, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan will participate in this championship.

The formal inauguration of the championship will take place on August 24 at 2 pm. The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony will be Engr. Yogesh Kumar (Director-Commercial, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited). The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Karate Association of UP President TP Havelia.
