Chief Minister Champai Soren on Wednesday reviewed the updated status of schemes above Rs 10 crore of Building Construction Department, Water Resources Department, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Urban Development and Housing Department, Road Construction Department and Rural Works Department. Gave many important instructions.
Soren said that these schemes will decide the direction of development of the state. In such a situation, all these schemes should be completed on time and there should not be any compromise on its quality. In the high-level review meeting of six departments, the Chief Minister told the officials that whatever schemes are going on should be completed within the stipulated time. Whatever deadline is fixed for the scheme, speed up the work and complete it so that the people here can benefit from it.
Cost increases due to pending projects
Expressing concern over many schemes being pending for a long time, the Chief Minister said that this is not in the interest of the state. This increases the cost of the schemes significantly. Because of this there is additional financial burden on the government. In such a situation, appropriate and prompt steps should be taken towards completing whatever pending schemes are there.
Work in coordination with departments
The Chief Minister clearly told the officers that they should work in coordination between the concerned departments regarding various schemes so that if any kind of hindrance is coming in the implementation of the schemes, it can be resolved. He said that there are many such schemes in which different departments participate, in such a situation, those departments should work together to speed up the schemes.
Report plans in a week
The Chief Minister said which project will be completed by when. Which schemes are facing problems in implementation? Instructions were given to prepare a complete list of the nature of those problems and submit it within a week, so that further action can be taken towards its solution.
There should be no drinking water crisis in summer
The Chief Minister said that the summer season is coming. In such a situation, all preparations should be completed so that there is no drinking water crisis. Whatever schemes related to drinking water should be speeded up. Apart from this, keeping the needs in mind, prepare an action plan for drinking water schemes and implement it.
Irrigation related projects should be such that at least villages fall in the submergence area.
While reviewing the schemes of the Water Resources Department, the Chief Minister said that in the projects related to irrigation and reservoir, full care should be taken that minimum villages are affected in the submergence area. This creates many problems during displacement. In such a situation, latest technology should be used in irrigation projects.
Informed about the updated status of schemes in departments
Secretary of Building Construction Department, Manish Ranjan said that in the year 2023-24, Jharkhand High Court, Collectorate Dhanbad and Collectorate Garhwa have been completed, while the sub-divisional residential building is ready and the construction work of Jharkhand Building New Delhi has also been completed. Apart from this, the construction work of MLA residence Ranchi, Command Control Building Ranchi, Collectorate building and Court building in Lohardaga, Collectorate building in Gumla and Deoghar and ATI building in Ranchi is going on. He also informed the Chief Minister about the updated status of construction of buildings being constructed for various departments by Building Construction Corporation Limited.
Water Resources Department Secretary Prashant Kumar started Garhwa Megalift Irrigation Project, Masalia Mega Lift Irrigation Project, Dumka, Sikatiya Mega Lift Irrigation Project Deoghar- Jamtara, Punasi Reservoir Project Deoghar, started Reservoir Scheme Seraikela Kharsawan, Double Barrage Scheme Seraikela Kharsawan, Panchkhero Reservoir Hazaribagh. – Informed the Chief Minister about the progress of irrigation projects other than Koderma and Subarnarekha Multi-Country Project, Seraikela Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum.
Secretary of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Rajesh Sharma said that 101 schemes related to drinking water have been taken in the entire state. The total cost of these schemes is Rs 9731 crore. In this, work on all the schemes except seven has started. Drinking Water and Sanitation Department Secretary Chandrashekhar said that 15 solid waste projects have been approved in the entire state at a cost of approximately Rs 416 crore. The construction of some of these has been completed while work on some projects is going on. He also gave updated information related to Amrit Yojana, Namami Gange Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Urban under centrally funded schemes.
The Secretary also informed that work is being done on 29 state funded schemes, 1 scheme of the World Bank and 3 schemes of the Asian Development Bank. Work is going on on 241 road construction schemes across the state. About 4600 kilometers of roads are being built under these schemes. Departmental Secretary Sunil Kumar informed the Chief Minister about the updated status of these road schemes.
Secretary of Rural Affairs Department K. Srinivasan told the Chief Minister that 528 schemes have been taken up at a cost of Rs 6623 crore. In this, the tender process of 289 schemes has been completed. These include 54 schemes of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 11 of Mukhyamantri Gram Setu Yojana, 4 of Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana and 459 schemes of Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Strengthening Scheme.
