2 November (Saturday) – Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Govardhan Puja/Vikram Samvat New Year
On November 2, there will be a bank holiday in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Bali Pratipada and Govardhan Puja. Vikram Samvat New Year will also be celebrated on this day, due to which banks will remain closed in many states. Residents of Karnataka and Maharashtra have got a four-day long weekend on the occasion of Diwali.

Holidays in November include major festivals like Diwali Amavasya (Lakshmi Puja), Kuta Mahotsav, Kannada Rajyotsava, Balipadyami, Vikram Samvat New Year, Chhath Puja and Vangala Mahotsav.
