Ranchi, 01 November (HS). Jharkhand government has transferred Jharkhand Revenue Council member Alka Tiwari as the Chief Secretary of the state till further orders. In this regard, the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and State Language has issued a notification on Friday. Alka Tiwari is a dynamic IAS officer of 1988 batch.
Alka Tiwari started her career as Gumla DC. After this she also remained DC in Lohardaga. Has contributed to the post of Secretary in the Commercial Tax and Forest and Environment Department of the Government of Jharkhand.
Alka Tiwari has also contributed to important ministries of the Centre. She held the posts of Advisor in NITI Aayog, Government of India, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers. At NITI Aayog, he handled key areas of education, financial resources and developed strategy documents to reform India's higher education regulatory framework and develop world-class institutions of teaching and research. Also contributed as CMD of fertilizer company FAGMIL.
It is noteworthy that Alka Tiwari's husband Dr. D. Tiwari is a 1986 batch IAS officer, who retired from the post of Chief Secretary of Jharkhand. Presently working on the post of State Election Commissioner.
