Jammu, 05 August (HS). Today is the fifth anniversary of the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. An alert has been issued in the entire state to deal with any kind of terrorist incident. Due to security reasons, the batch of Amarnath pilgrims was not sent from Jammu on Monday. The batch of Amarnath pilgrims will not come to Jammu from Srinagar either.
Meanwhile, in view of the possibility of a terrorist attack, the movement of convoys of security forces in Kashmir including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has also been banned. However, the road opening party will remain deployed on the highway and other roads as usual. Security has also been further strengthened on the borders of Jammu and Kashmir.
Checkpoints have been set up at various places across the state. Intensive checking of vehicles is being done. It is noteworthy that five years ago on August 5, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were separated into two union territories. Also, Article 370 and 35A were abolished from Jammu and Kashmir.
