Katihar, 04 September (HS). National Deworming Day program was organized in Upkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Barsoi, in which children were given Albendazole medicine and were made aware about cleanliness. The objective of this program is to prevent the problem of stomach worms in children and keep them healthy.
The program was inaugurated by Barsoi Block Development Officer Hariom Sharan and he administered Albendazole medicine to the children. He said that children between 01 year to 19 years must take medicine for stomach worms and children's health should be our priority. He said that children should be motivated to stay clean and necessary steps should be taken to keep them healthy.
Medical Officer in charge Dr. Sumit Kumar said that children are prone to stomach related diseases, so they should be made aware of hygiene. He said that children often eat food and drink water with dirty hands while playing outside, which can cause them stomach worms. He said that Albendazole medicine is given twice a year to protect children from stomach worms. The children who missed it today will be given the medicine on September 11.
The Medical Officer in charge, Block Education Officer, Health Manager, Asha Manager, VBDS, BCM and parents of the children were present in the program. They made the children aware of cleanliness and motivated them to take necessary steps to keep them healthy.
