Akshay Kumar has extended a helping hand to the family of late Gurmeet Bawa, Punjabi folk singer and the longest recipient of Padma Bhushan. Akshay Kumar has secretly transferred Rs 25 lakh to the account of Gurmeet Bawa's daughter Glory. This help has reached his family after the video of Glory Bawa's condition went viral. His daughter Glory was facing difficulties after separating from late Gurmeet Bawa and Lachi Bawa.
Apart from taking care of her family, Glory was also taking care of her sister Lachi Bawa's children. But after her sister left, she could not do the show and the family's financial condition worsened. After which Glory Bawa had announced to leave India and go abroad, but in the meantime DC Amritsar and Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal gave cheques of Rs 1 lakh each to Glory Bawa. After this, now Akshay Kumar has sent her Rs 25 lakh for help.
Glory Bawa told that she got a call from the bank manager, after which she came to know about this. The bank manager told that a person named Akshay Kumar Bhatia had transferred Rs 25 lakh to her bank account. She is also surprised that till date she has not met Akshay Kumar nor has she ever spoken to him.
Gurmeet Bawa was born in 1944 in village Kothe Gurdaspur. Gurmeet is married to Kripal Bawa. After marriage, Gurmeet completed her studies. Kripal Bawa introduced Gurmeet to JBT. She passed it and was the first woman to become a teacher in her area. Gurmeet had a very melodious voice. Her husband accompanied her and she also reached Mumbai.
Gurmeet Bawa was known as the queen of long dance. No one has been able to break this record of hers till date. She will dance for 45 seconds. In the old days, most of the songs and films of Bollywood and Punjabi industry were sung by Gurmeet. But four years ago, his daughter Laachi Bawa died. After which she fell ill and died three years ago.
