SP President Akhilesh Yadav was to reach the public meeting organized in Harra village of Siwalkhas assembly of Meerut, which falls under Baghpat Lok Sabha constituency, on Tuesday. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh reached the public meeting and attacked BJP and RLD and appealed to SP-Congress candidate Amarpal Sharma to win the elections from Baghpat. The people who came to the public meeting were continuously waiting for the arrival of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. When Akhilesh Yadav did not arrive even after waiting for three hours, people started leaving the public meeting. After this it was announced that Akhilesh Yadav would not arrive. The reason for this was said to be Akhilesh Yadav's helicopter not taking off due to bad weather. There is talk that Akhilesh Yadav, angry over not gathering the expected crowd in the public meeting, has canceled the tour. Earlier, the expected crowd could not be gathered in the public meeting held in Hajipur village on Hapur Road in Meerut.
