News India Live, Digital Desk: Once again swords have been drawn in the politics of Uttar Pradesh regarding ‘investment and technology’. Samajwadi Party national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has strongly attacked the agreement (MOU) recently signed by the Yogi government with ‘Pooch AI’. Akhilesh Yadav, while taunting the government through social media, has asked that when will these investments worth billions on paper materialize? He has termed this entire matter as throwing dust in the eyes of the public.

What is the ‘Ask AI’ controversy and Akhilesh’s allegations? In fact, the Uttar Pradesh government has signed an agreement with a startup called ‘Pooch AI’ to take the state forward in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Akhilesh Yadav alleges that the credibility and capability of the companies with which the government is signing MOUs is doubtful. He tweeted and wrote, “Innocent people of Uttar Pradesh are being ‘asked’ in the name of AI, but in reality they are avoiding answering about unemployment and inflation. Why is this investment limited only to pictures and advertisements?”

Questions raised on investment figures in UP Akhilesh Yadav, while reminding the old agreements made during the Global Investors Summit (GIS), said that the government had claimed investment of more than Rs 35 lakh crore, but not even a single percent work is visible on the ground. He said that the talks of ‘Digital India’ and ‘Smart UP’ are just election slogans. He has demanded from the government to make public the complete terms and conditions of the agreement with ‘Puch AI’ and the profile of the company so that the people of the state can know the truth.

Yogi government’s counterattack: “Opposition is allergic to development” The spokespersons of BJP and the government have also retaliated on these sharp attacks of the opposition. The government has said that Akhilesh Yadav is ‘allergic’ to the progress and new technology of Uttar Pradesh. Government sources claim that initiatives like ‘Ask AI’ will open new doors in the field of technology for the youth of the state and UP will soon become an AI hub. BJP said that during the SP period, only ‘Katta’ and ‘Gundagardi’ were being invested, whereas now ‘IT’ and ‘AI’ are being invested.

‘War of words’ broke out on social media After this statement of Akhilesh Yadav, a debate has erupted between supporters and opponents on Twitter. While SP supporters are calling it an expose of the government’s failures, supporters of the ruling party are calling it an attempt to hinder development. Political experts believe that ‘investment’ and ’employment’ are going to be a big issue in the coming elections, and Akhilesh Yadav is cornering the government under this strategy.
