Varanasi, 25 October (Hindustan Reporter). The university unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad took out a protest march in the Kashi Hindu University (BHU) campus on Friday afternoon. The students and activists participating in the march alleged that their voice was raised against the lack of communication and irregularities of the administration. The march ended by reaching Mahila Mahavidyalaya Tirahe from the Central Office Complex via Vishwanath Temple and Vice Chancellor's residence via Faculty Road.
Minister of the BHU unit of the council, Bhaskaraditya Tripathi, who participated in the march, said that 19-point demands were made, including giving opportunities to MPhil degree holders in research admission, injustice being done to NET qualified candidates, restarting of Spandan, investigation into misuse of IOU funds. The workers have been protesting since last 18th October. To know the condition of the students sitting on indefinite strike near the central office located on the campus, no university official has reached the protest site nor has made any kind of communication.
Unit president Prashant Rai said, “It seems that the university administration is no longer concerned about the welfare of the students. Administration people are only busy filling their pockets. Omkar Shastri, Aashirvadham, Rajkumar, Sarvesh, Gaurav, Vikas, Adarsh Gautam, Sakshi, Aparna, Aarohi, Madan Gopal, Vyom, Himanshu, Dhruv, Ashwini, Akhilesh, Pallav, Gajendra, Divyanshu, Krishnakant etc. participated in the march.
