Ram Dhun has been going on for 59 years
The special thing about the legendary Bala Hanuman Temple of Jamnagar, recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, is that the Ram tune of Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai has been playing here continuously for the last 59 years. Ram keeps playing 24 hours in this temple. This Ramdhun was started on 1 August 1964 and even today this Ramdhun is being played.
Started in 1964
According to the temple administration, Akhand Ram Dhun was started by Prembhikshuji Maharaj on 1 August 1964, which is a golden letter date in the history of Jamnagar. It is written on 1-8-1964 and since then the legendary Bala Hanuman Temple of Jamnagar has been continuously playing Akhand Ramdhun despite many calamities like flood, storm, earthquake, tsunami etc. For this reason, the name of this temple has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
57 year old tradition
On 1 August 1964 i.e. 59 years ago, on the orders of Maharajji, Hanuman devotees decided to chant 'Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram' mantra 24 hours continuously for 7 days. Which later became an endless tradition and continues till today. Now a list of those who sing Ram Dhun is prepared a day in advance and pasted on the notice board. Any devotee in the temple can join Akhand Ram Dhun as per his wish.
Unbroken tunes continued even in earthquake
The special thing is that the devotees coming to the temple have not allowed the wave of Ram tunes to break even after half a century has passed. Even during the devastating earthquake in Gujarat in 2001, devotees continued singing Akhand Ram Dhun.
