Akbar the Great should not be shown in textbooks, declares this state's Education Minister – News India Live | News India

Akbar News: Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilaware said that Mughal emperor Akbar will no longer be taught as a great person in schools. The education minister criticised Akbar and said that he looted the country for years, so in future no Mughal emperor will be allowed to praise him as a great personality.

This was said during the Bhamashah Samman ceremony in Udaipur. It was further said that comparing Akbar with Maharana Pratap is an insult to the Rajput warrior and the pride of Rajasthan. Maharana Pratap did not accept to bow down to the invaders. Akbar killed many people for his own benefit. Calling Akbar great is nothing but foolishness.

This is an insult to Bhamashah of Mewar Rajasthan and the great Maharana Pratap. In many books, Akbar is not seen as great. If there are books which are considered great, then they will be burnt. If any misleading information has been given about ancestors like Veer Savarkar and Shivaji, then that too will be corrected.
