Akali Dal President and Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib can be changed

Amritsar: After leaving Shiromani Akali Dal United and joining Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, Sukhdev Singh reached Dhindsa Sachkhand to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. He said that he has come to seek blessings from Guru Sahib so that he can work for the progress of the Panth and Punjab. He said that he has returned to the party only on the condition of implementing the conditions on which he had broken ties with the Akali Dal. To find out the defeat of the party during the assembly elections in 2022, Iqbal Singh Jhundan Committee was formed which prepared a complete report in which a qualified person was appointed as the Jathedar with the right to replace the party president and the Jathedar. Shri Akal Takht Sahib was asked to take independent decisions and it was also said to stop political interference in Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee. He said that I agree that the report of the Animal Husbandry Committee will be implemented after the Lok Sabha elections. He said that after the elections, a decision will be taken in the core committee, in which the President of Shiromani Akali Dal and the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib can be changed.

Dhindsa said that a decision on the Akali-BJP alliance will be taken in the core committee meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal in Chandigarh on Friday. He said that it is too early to comment on the alliance, the core committee will take the final decision in this regard. He said that the attitude of BJP and Akali Dal is positive on this, the final decision regarding seat distribution can be taken in the meeting. On this occasion, Shiromani Committee members Malkit Singh Galhal, Hardev Singh Rogla, Rampal Singh Brahminwal etc. were present.
