Maharashtra Politics: For the first time, Ajit Pawar has broken his silence on the non-inclusion of NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal in the cabinet of the newly elected Mahayuti government of Maharashtra. He said that some people are angry at not getting a ministerial post in the cabinet, but many times new people are given a chance. This does not mean spreading unnecessary confusion. Along with this, Ajit said that instead of giving another chance in the state cabinet, we are thinking of sending senior people to the Centre. Ajit Pawar never disrespects anyone but he should not create such confusion. According to the report, Ajit did not take the name of Bhujbal but it is clear where he was referring.
It is noteworthy that Chhagan Bhujbal had indirectly targeted Ajit Pawar for not being included in the cabinet and had said that Fadnavis was ready till the last moment to include him in the cabinet but he was not given the chance.
Angry Bhujbal met Chief Minister Fadnavis
Amidst all this, senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday. Bhujbal told reporters after the meeting that he had a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister on the political and social situation of the state. Former state minister Bhujbal was accompanied by his nephew Sameer Bhujbal during the chief minister’s nearly half-hour visit to Sagar Bungalow in Mumbai. Chhagan Bhujbal said, “Fadnavis told me that Other Backward Classes played an important role in Mahayut’s landslide victory in the assembly elections and he will ensure that the interests of the OBC community are not affected.”
He also said that the Chief Minister has asked for some time to consider the issues related to OBCs. The NCP leader said, ‘Fadnavis said he will take a decision in 10-12 days.’ OBC leaders are against activist Manoj Jarange’s demand for giving reservation to the Maratha community in the Other Backward Class (Kunbi) category. Armed forces are also the main opponents of this demand. Some representatives of OBC organizations from many parts of Maharashtra visited Bhujbal on Sunday.
Asked if he was planning to join the BJP, Bhujbal did not elaborate, but only said that he had already expressed his views on the issue of being ignored in the cabinet expansion. The NCP leader, elected from Yeola assembly seat in Nashik district, skipped the winter session of the state assembly in Nagpur on Saturday.
