There is great news for passengers traveling at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Air train is going to start at Delhi airport soon. There is a plan to start air train for easy movement of passengers between the three terminals at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). This airport, operated by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), is the busiest airport in the country.
What is Air Train? When will it start?
Air train is a special train that takes passengers from one terminal to another inside the airport. This train is fully automated and runs without stopping.
According to DIAL, there are plans to implement an “Automated People Mover (APM) System” at the airport. The APM or Air Train aims to provide reliable, fast and seamless connectivity between Terminal-1 and Terminal-3/2 via Aerocity and Cargo City, covering a distance of about 7.7 km.
No definite date has been given yet as to when the air train will be started. But information about this will be given soon. However, this project can be completed by 2027.
From where to where will the air train run at Delhi Airport?
There are three terminals at Delhi Airport – T1, T2 and T3. Till now passengers have to use bus or car to travel between these terminals, which takes a lot of time. The air train will start from Terminal 1 of the airport and go to Terminal 3 and Terminal 2. It will also pass through Aerocity and Cargo City. With the start of the air train, passengers will be able to reach from one terminal to another in a very short time.
What benefits will the air train provide to passengers?
Passengers will also be able to carry luggage with them in the air train. The safety of passengers will be taken care of in the air train. There will be enough space for passengers to sit in it. Apart from this, passengers will get many benefits.
Time Saving: Traveling by air train will take very less time.
Comfortable Travel: Traveling in air train will be very comfortable.
free tour: It is possible that passengers will not have to pay any fare to travel in the air train.
Better for the environment: Air train will reduce pollution.
Starting of air train will make travelling easier for passengers
Apart from providing the necessary connectivity between terminals, the APM system will enhance passenger convenience, improve ASQ scores and reduce carbon footprint. The introduction of Air Train at Delhi Airport will provide great convenience to passengers. This will save time of passengers and make their journey even easier.
