Kokrajhar (Assam), 17 October (HIST). Air services resumed at Kokrajhar's Rupsi Airport from today after a gap of one year. There was an atmosphere of hustle and bustle at the airport since this morning.

The plane took off from Guwahati's popular Gopinath Bardelai International Airport and landed at Rupsi Airport at 8.20 am.

It is noteworthy that Rupsi Airport, established during the Second World War during the British rule, was closed since 1984. Flybig used to provide flights from Rupsi to Guwahati and Kolkata, but the flights were completely suspended for the last one year.

The airline will operate three days a week from today. Assam government minister UG Brahma reached the airport in the morning and inspected the flight service.
