Air India announces salary hike: Tata Group airline Air India has increased the salary of pilots by Rs 15,000. Apart from this, an annual performance bonus of up to Rs 1.8 lakh has also been announced. The salary hike and annual performance bonus will be effective from April 1. According to an official statement issued in this regard, the salary of First Officer to Senior Commander has been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 per month. There has been no increase in the salary of junior first officers in this appraisal session.
However, for junior first officers (JFOs) to senior commanders, the company will pay Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 1.8 lakh as annual bonus. First officers and captains will get an annual bonus of Rs 60,000, while commanders and senior commanders will get a bonus of Rs 1.32 lakh and Rs 1.80 lakh respectively. The airline has also announced compensation for pilots whose ground and other training is getting delayed.
A statement issued by Air India said, 'Those who underwent command upgrade and conversion training between April 2023 and March 2024 and whose training was delayed due to valid organizational reasons will get additional compensation. The airline said that detailed information in this regard will be sent to the employees separately and the flying allowance for June will be paid along with the compensation.
The Air India Express Union on May 22 expressed concern over flight cancellations and delays. The union says the reduction in the number of flights is also affecting the salaries of cabin crew. The Air India Express Employees Union (AIXEU) also claimed that more than 100 cabin crew have been sitting idle without flight duty for the last two months due to non-availability of airport entry passes.
