New Delhi: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Sunday terminated the services of its chief legal advisor Nilanjan Bhattacharjee, who had leveled serious corruption allegations against president Kalyan Choubey. Chaubey had called these allegations baseless.
Bhattacharya wrote a letter to PM Modi
Bhattacharjee on Saturday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur citing 'corruption' in the tender process related to AIFF. He also alleged that Choubey used federation funds for personal expenses. Choubey had said that he will give a legal answer to this.

“This is to inform you of the decision to terminate your appointment as Chief Legal Advisor of the AIFF with immediate effect,” AIFF acting general secretary M Satyanarayana wrote in a dismissal letter to Bhattacharjee on Sunday.
Under the contract, AIFF will pay Bhattacharjee for another month as one month's notice is required for dismissal. Bhattacharjee said that he had expected this.
