Prioritizing professional learning
The impact of AI is expected to change the skills required for 68 percent of jobs globally and 64 percent in India by 2030. Indian professionals are responding to this shift by spending 2x more time learning on LinkedIn than the global average, with a greater focus on AI-related skills such as machine learning, generative AI, and deep learning. Interestingly, India is now a global leader and AI engineering skills are 2.7x more prevalent than the global average among professionals here.
Ahmedabad talent is investing in core skills
Apart from AI, professionals are also investing time in learning skills such as Computer Science (+151%), Computer Engineering (+120%), Operations (+110%). Nearly 40% of professionals in the city engage in ‘learning out loud’ and are vocal and deliberate about their learning ambitions in the workplace, spending at least 4-5 hours every week learning new skills.
Increasing demand in IT and Engineering
Engineering, IT, software development and analytical skills are among the most common skills sought in Ahmedabad, with the city's talent attracting employers in the IT services, IT consulting and banking sectors. While industries are looking for the right talent, professionals in the city are looking for employers that offer work-life balance (50%), career growth (48%), better compensation (47%) and opportunities to learn new skills (46%).
