Ahmedabad: A team of Ahmedabad Crime Branch has caught a fake IAS officer who was extorting money from people by luring them with jobs. A 29-year-old youth was committing fraud on the basis of fake documents by pretending to be an IAS officer.
According to the details received in this regard, on September 6, while working on car rental in Paldi area of Ahmedabad, a person named Mehul Shah called on Prateek Shah’s mobile phone and introduced himself as an IAS officer. Who told about Innova car for government work and finalized the deal on rent of Rs 3500 per day. Not only this, a letter signed by the Secretary of the Home Ministry was given and sirens and curtains were installed in the car.
Apart from this, on October 19, Mehlu Shah, being the trustee of Asarwa School, himself hired two luxury buses for the school tour. Also asked for money to get a person’s son a government job as a clerk in a school in Asarwa. 3 lakh rupees were collected. DEO R.M. for this fake officer Mehul Shah. A fake letter signed by Chaudhary was also given. When Innova called to ask for fare, he switched off the car and ran away. The team of Ahmedabad Crime Branch has registered a complaint in this regard and arrested Mehul Shah while investigating further.
Initial investigation has revealed that accused Mehul Shah is the manager of two schools in Wankaner, Morbi. Letters from various departments of the government have also been received from him. Apart from this, Mehul Shah also used to hire bouncers to put the burden of officials on the people.
Mehul Shah also created fake letters of Home Ministry, Ahmedabad DEO to deceive people. Along with fake IDs, the police have also recovered fake letters from different departments of the government from the accused. Along with this, the police has requested the public that if the accused has cheated someone else in this way, then they should come forward and lodge their complaint.
