Agriculture Minister discussed expansion of technical partnership with Israeli Ambassador

Lucknow, 15 October (Hindustan Reporter). Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi met Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar and his entire team at his official residence in Lucknow on Tuesday. During this, he discussed about further expanding the technical partnership with India and Israel in the agriculture sector and connecting small farmers with the Center for Excellence established with the technical cooperation of Israel in Kannauj and Basti.

The Agriculture Minister told the Israeli delegation that Uttar Pradesh is progressing rapidly in the production of horticultural crops, vegetables, food grains and oilseeds. All preparations are being made to use better technology in future. He said that Center for Excellence is ready in Kannauj and Basti. Farmers should be involved in this and discussion was held on making big farmers also better technically equipped for food processing, export and packaging on cluster approach. He told that the Center for Excellence is running well in Kannauj and Basti, there was a detailed discussion about visiting farmers and extension activities and making the One Center for Excellence in Kaushambi and Chandauli operational as soon as possible. .

On this occasion, the Israeli Ambassador also requested the Agriculture Minister and his team to participate in the Agritech Exhibition to be organized in 2025. Possibilities of using technology on government sectors and working with Israeli companies on PPP mode were also discussed. During this, Chief Minister's Advisor KV Raju, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ravindra, Secretary Agriculture Anurag Yadav, Director Agriculture Dr. Jitendra Kumar Tomar, Uttar Pradesh Seed Development Corporation Director Pankaj Tripathi and other senior officials were also present.
