Kanpur, 24 September (HS). Agricultural scientists should develop such species according to the changing weather which are weather friendly. Keep on advancing your experience and knowledge, so that research work can be given more dynamism. This was said by the Agriculture, Education and Research Minister of UP Government, Surya Pratap Shahi, after inaugurating the 31st three-day annual workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Agricultural and Technology University, Meerut, by ICAR Atari Zone 3 Kanpur on Tuesday.

He said that the government will give Rs 25000 per hectare to farmers for cultivating baby corn and sweet corn. Farmers should make brand products of natural farming and also validate them. He also suggested increasing the productivity of wheat to more than 50 quintals per hectare and appealed to plant all varieties of main crops of crop cafeteria in Rabi crop at Krishi Vigyan Kendras. He also said that there has been an increase of 122 percent in pulses and oilseed crops in the state from the year 2017 to 2024.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. KK Singh said that the contribution of women and youth in agriculture is remarkable. He said that we have to increase the production per unit. On this occasion, Dr. P Das, former Deputy Director General of Agricultural Extension, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, said that water, land, climate and forests have to be saved.

He asked the scientists to make the Krishi Vigyan Kendras more modern and their efficiency more dynamic. Dr. Das said that in the coming times, the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras will be even more effective. On this occasion, former Deputy Director General of Agriculture Extension, Dr. K.D. Kokate said that drones should be used on more farmers' fields, so that good farming can be done in less time and at less cost.

The three-day 31st Regional Annual Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras organized by ICAR Attari Zone 3 Kanpur was started from 24 to 26 September at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. The inauguration was done by the Minister of Agriculture, Agricultural Education and Research of the State Government, Surya Pratap Shahi and other guests by lighting the lamp.

Dr. Raghvendra Singh, Principal Scientist of ICAR Attari, said that 17 Centers of Excellence and 7 Seed Hubs are being established in the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the state. Whereas natural farming has been started in 52 Krishi Vigyan Kendras. On this occasion, all the Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Uttar Pradesh including Directors of Extension of all universities, Chairman and Senior Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras participated.
