Agneepath Yojana broke the dreams of 2 lakh youth, Mallikarjun Kharge expressed concern by writing a letter to the President – ​​News India Live

Mallikarjun Kharge on Agniveer: Congress has raised the issue of Agneepath scheme before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Congress has announced that if it comes to power, it will stop the Agneepath scheme and will bring back the old recruitment process in the army. Therefore, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has today written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu regarding this scheme. In this letter he requested the President to do justice to the approximately two lakh youth who were selected for regular service in the army but were not recruited. He claimed that the government stopped their recruitment and came up with the Agneepath scheme due to which these youth are facing difficulties.

Kharge wrote in the letter that, recently I met these youth. He told me, between 2019 and 2022, around 2 lakh candidates were informed that they have been selected in the three armed services – Army, Navy and Air Force. These youth struggled against all odds to pass the rigorous mental and physical tests and written examination.

'Dreams of youth broken'

He said, 'By May 31, 2022, he was confident that he had achieved his dream and was only waiting for his appointment letter. Their dreams were shattered the day the Government of India abolished this recruitment process and decided to implement the Agneepath Scheme in its place.'
